Right, here it is. I don't know why I keep making these silly, pointless lists of my fifty favourite songs by my favourite artists, because I'm in agony really trying to compile the goddamn list and thinking to myself, "Ooh! Should that song be higher than that song, or lower than that one? But then Song X is her defining song so surely it should be higher?!" ETC.

This list was very difficult to compile, because Kate's music is of such a high standard throughout her entire career. Personally, my favourite decade of her music, if I had to pick, would be the 1980s, and I'm sure many would agree. We got the first signs of real artistic genius materialising with Never for Ever, then the stunning The Dreaming, the obvious masterpiece Hounds of Love and the beautiful The Sensual World rounding out the decade in '89.

What happened this week, what's happening next

Hello,

First off, I'm sorry that some people had trouble listening online this week. There was a problem at our end, but it only affected one of several possible machines that people can listen through. This meant that most people (including me, and the engineers) got through fine most of the time - but that doesn't make it any easier for you if you had a problem. Thankfully, your comments and emails made it easier for us to find the problem, which was fixed yesterday. If you ever have difficulties listening online, please feel free to get in touch and let us know - it can help everyone chill!

Now onto the weekend. It's another long bank holiday break, which means more space to chill, in crap weather. If you get a bit of time with us, I hope you'll enjoy our Chiller Cabinet specials with Air (Saturday night and Thursday) and Robin Saville from Isan (tonight & Tuesday).

So I've been in a Kate Bush mode lately All last week in the car (my carpool mate K. is on holiday) I have been listening to Kate's entire catalogue.

In December of 2005, a newspaper was running a promotion to promote (that's what promotions tend to do) Kate's last album Aerial. I entered and won. The prize? Her entire catalogue. Which kinda sucked. The only time in my life I ever won anything— and I had her entire catalogue already…on LP (Until This Sensual World) and all on CD already—including her then new album.

So all my friends, that year, got Kate Bush CDs for Christmas. Whether they liked her or not!!

Kate's always been one of my faves—possibly in my Top 5 of all time. It's not just that she's hotter than jalapeno—although that helps. …
