Love to see others feel the same way as I do by Jumpin' Jive. I like almost everything Joe Jackson has done, but so few people are aware how versatile an artist he is. Of course, having Graham Maby for your bass player gives you options other people and bands don't have, but perhaps that's just my opinion.

This is still one of my favorite albums of all time, hands down. Everything, from the organization of the album to the artists involved to the covers picked is flawlessly executed. Just like all his albums, its obvious that huge amounts of skill and care have gone into making this happen. That being said, why is Night and Day his most popular album? Maybe it's just me, but I didn't like a single song on that disc. It was certainly very well performed, and an excellent showcase of his musical abilities, but I just couldn't get into it. No accounting for taste I guess.

When you record 30s / 40s era jazz tunes in the early 80's, it might stand to reason that the album will hold up pretty well after a quarter century. But leaving it there would do disservice to one of the under-recognized masters of late 20th century (and, thankfully, early 21st century) popular music. Joe Jackson's command of popular song form is on its own level. This remains a fantastic and fun collection of tunes; who else from the 80s UK pop music invasion (for which I'm still grateful) could have pulled off a project such as this? Joe Jackson is the man.

Very good sounding swing-jazz style JJ has going on here. JJ is one of the best performers in the music industry hands down. He is extremely underrated.
