This song goes from hilarious to heartbreaking in a moment. And shh on the puns front. Puns are great. Infact, there isn't nearly enough punning going on here.

It's too long and the instrumentation is very dull. And "I met her in the museum of paleontology, and I make no bones about it" is hardly Jarvis at his lyrical best. I don't think it's terrible but it's definitely my least favourite and it makes the album drag a bit before the utterly sublime I Never Said I Was Deep kicks in. Oh, and it used to freak me out when he sang "I could be your teddy bear" but it doesn't bother me so much any more.

@the two guys below me (oh how nice it feels to be on top): don't. Just don't. This song is lovely, the somewhat cheesy romantic lyrics are great and they're wrapped in such a sweet melody, it's definitely pretty to watch. And to listen to. And to feel (but not while touching yourself, that would be wrong).

It's one of his weakest solo songs IMO. I Never Said I Was Deep and You're In My Eyes are much better.

I understand what he is doing here, but it is not pretty to watch. :D

Don't think this is going to be a popular opinion (well, you never know), but this song marks the first time I've actively disliked anything Jarvis has done since 'Silence' in the mid 80s. 6 minutes of tired puns, rehashing of old themes and dull instrumentation leading to absolutely nothing. An absolute nadir.

I love this song so very much, I can see the whole thing unwinding on an old style movie reel in my mind. Also, Jarv, darling, you are still as thin as a rake.

Every single word of this song just makes me feel like crying, smiling, or sighing ... I just love Jarvis sooooo much. You are absolute genius!

THIS is why I love Jarvis Cocker. This song is filled with so much desperation and sincerity. It's beautiful, and the way he sings it - you believe every word he's saying.
