Love the Hatfields, all great players but in that non-show-off way that characterises the best music of that period (as opposed to the flash pompiness of the likes of some 'prog' bands). There's real warmth in the Hatfield's sound, plus you've got the wonderful singing of Richard Sinclair
This is a really good piece of music. I just don't get the purpose of the vocals though. It would have been better to make this a purely instrumental piece. Then put the vocals in a separate short song somewhere else on the album so it can be overlooked or forgotten.
Unsurpassed, until the X Factor of course.
Seriously, this kind of wonder was smothered by a music press on a bandwagon but there is still not enough darkness in the world to dim the light of one small candle.
