Albeit these are lighthearted blog posts, I can't really think of 1998 without mentioning I lost a classmate and a childhood friend that autumn. People die all the time but he was killed in an exceptionally shocking way. Terrible case of "wrong place, wrong time" and no fault of his own. He was 14 years old, just like me. I do not think about it often and I suspect many others have pushed it to the dark corners of their minds as well. Needless to say, it wasn't a good year for me. Not to make light of that but luckily I wasn't listening to very much good music back then so the following albums have not been marred by terrible memories and experiences.
