I'd say it's surprisingly good record and one of the most interesting game soundtracks I've ever heard. It's got some original ideas, using both early electronica sounds from late 70s - early 80s and handful of ethnic instruments, somewhat similar to Jean Michel Jarre's Zoolook. I like the way tracks were re-recorded using real instruments, maybe with exception of Chani's Eyes and Emotion Control, also midi-version of Revelation (map of arrakis) had more ideas when new one. What to add? It's one of the very few game music CDs I have in my playlist.
Same tunes as the computer game, but it's been destroyed by replacing the powerful horns 'n' stuff with 80's-style guitar and crud voice-overs. Whilst the game music was a symphonic east-west powerful soundtrack, this album seems to want to turn it into rock/pop. Whoops.
man, this shit is rockin'. Now i wonder where'd i get electronic music like that with a desert motives. Since it's not likely they'll release more seeing how it's a soundtrack. If anyone knows of something similarly sounding PM me please.
