Figlio dell’attore Anthony Perkins e della fotografa Berry Berenson, fotografa quasi altrettanto nota morta l’11 settembre a bordo dell’aereo che andò a schiantarsi contro la torre nord del WTC, è un cantautore americano che predilige canzoni acustiche scritte con tanta tenerezza quanto acume pop.
“Ash Wednesday” è ad ora il suo primo ed unico album, suonato assieme al fratello Oz e all’amico Ethan Gold.
Son of Anothony Perkins and Berry Berenson, folk singer/songwriter Elivs Perkins debuted in 2007 with Ash Wednesday on XL Records. Perkins picked up comparisons to Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen with the release, as he drew from painful experiences of his life: his father sucumbing to AIDS-related sickness and his mother dying in 9/11. His follow-up includes his band Elvis Perkins in Dearland.

AINHACHEs -- Elvis Perkins' mother was on one of the flight's that crashed into the twin towers on 9/11, which also happened to be one day before the anniversary of his father's death. These events were inspiration for the album 'Ash Wednesday.
