    Agree with most comments. Time is still my favorite ELO album, but then all are great in my eyes. When first released, I thought this song was good... but (dear God) 30+ years have passed and I think this is one of the best tracks on Time!!

    Ben I think you are right. I saw ELO in Roanoke Va. after Lennon's death and over half of the concert was deticated to John Lennon.

    It sounds like Lennon because Jeff Lynne wrote the song partially as a tribute to him after his death. There is reference to several Beatles' or Lennon songs: "Penny in Your Pocket" = Penny Lane, "Suitcase in Your Hand" = Lady Madonna, "Fly Across the City" = Flying(?), "You stepped out of the dream" = Imagine. Jeff Lynne has a strong relationship with John Lennon and George Harrison and even helped produced John's Free as a Bird and Real Love after Lennon's death.
