Set 27 2008, 11:41 di nutriot
Scheduled for this September is a remix EP of IG Culture's Zen Badizm album. The track in question is the wonderful Eddie Kendricks cover-version of Girl U Need A Change Of Mind, remixed by the man himself and Stones Throw's Georgia Anne Muldrow. -
Sonoton Radio Show #13

Motown Records, also known as Tamla-Motown outside of the United States, is a record label originally based out of Detroit, Michigan ("Motor City"), where it achieved widespread international success. Motown played an important role in the racial integration of popular music as the first record label owned by an African American and primarily featuring African American artists to regularly achieve crossover success and have a widespread, lasting effect on the music industry.
Incorporated on 12 January 1959 by Berry Gordy, Jr. as Tamla Records, Motown has, over the course of its history, owned or distributed releases from more than 45 subsidiaries in varying genres, although it is most famous for its releases in the musical genres of R&B, hip hop, pop, and soul. Motown left Detroit for Los Angeles in 1972, and remained an independent company until 1988, when Gordy sold the company to MCA. … -
Space Is the Place 11/15/06
Nov 16 2006, 3:33 di Skizizzle
Damn, it was a slow night. I think I'm going to change the name of my show, but I haven't yet. The last one was too much of a mouthful to say! (although I did think it captured the nature of the music on the show) I'm putting it like this to see if I like it enough. If you have an opinion, or even a different name entirely you are totally welcome to say it.
There's a Top 40 hip-hop/RnB show before me and a jazz show afterwards so I kind of take that into account in structuring my show.
