Folk ór black? Why not both \o/?! Seriously though, Drudkh has both folk and (atmospheric) black metal as dominant elements. The "exact" tag doesn't really matter, as long as you can recognize and appreciate the musical characteristics. Drudkh is Drudkh, and Drudkh is GREAT.

They're both vague terms nowadays, but Drudkh is still folk metal with some black metal elements, not the other way around. They are heavily involved in Ukrainian history, nature and people, the music also lends heavily from Ukrainian folk music. It's folk metal.

Does anyone know what's the title of the cover's painting and the name of its painter on the SoM digipack re-release?

First listen, and first experience with Drudkh. This is some gloriously melancholic atmospheric black metal. I will definitely be checking out this band's other albums.

I still can't believe how many inredible riffs and solos can be found on this album. A total masterpiece of real atmospheric black metal.

Excellent album, I found it very interesting they dedicated it to a famous Ukrainian Nationalist, this is one of the reasons this was the first Drudkh album I listened to.

"this is not black metal. Great album, but not black metal." You are aware that there are sub-genres within Black Metal just as there are in Death Metal, right? It may not have the common themes of most Black Metal albums, but to say it's not Black Metal is just idiotic. If it isn't Black Metal, then what exactly would you classify this as? I'm not being a smart-ass either, I'm genuinely curious.
