Glad y'all agree, this should be prominently placed on the album alright - it's THE best outtake we've heard since the advent of CDs with bonus tracks!

I love this song, especially with the falsetto at the end. That part made me LOL!

i totally agree with subwersja. i dont know why this isnt on there! it is as good as any of the tracks on Hunky Dory, and even better than a couple i think.

hm. i love the "things that happened in the past only happende in your mind". it seems to be true and uplifting indeed. but then, the rest of the song is just too hippie-happy. so i smell irony/stupidity and stop believing all of the lines ;p

I've always thought it was meant slightly ironically, to be sung in such a jokey, throwaway manner seems to suggest so. Of course, the true irony is that I find it genuinely uplifting. Or perhaps that was the intention all along. I don't know what to believe anymore. Who am I?

and, to be well understood: what i love about popular culture is that anybody can interpret it the way they want. and what i love about bowie is that his music is so diversed, that you can always find something you'd like.

i don't think it's particularly grim. i like kooks for example. and i like fill your heart's music as well, but the lyrics seem naive and thoughtless compared to bowie's own writing. i mean: "gentleness is everywhere"?! what does it have in comon with the coming of "homo superior" or "facing the strange"? but maybe i just don't understand it right, as english is my second language. it could be some veiled irony too. (i have a feeling that this post should be in fill your heart shoutbox, but nevermind ;p)

I like Fill Your Heart, I think it fits just fine. It's not like Hunky Dory is a relentlessly grim album, is it?

i like it more than some tracks from HD too. especially more than fill your heart, which, in my opinion, is ridiculously cheerful and doesn't fit in the album at all. wonder what on earth made bowie replace bombers with it.
