Cymbals Eat Guitars is an indie rock band from Staten Island, New York.[2] Joseph Ferocious (Joseph D’Agostino) and Matthew Miller attended Southern Regional High School in Manahawkin, New Jersey where they graduated in the class of 2006 together. According to their website:

Their debut album Why There Are Mountains was included in Pitchfork Media’s “Best New Music”, earning 8.3/10 in its review.[3] The LP version of the album is currently only available via Insound.[4]

An early version of the song “Share” was released on the Indiecater Vol. 1 compilation in June 2008.[5]

In late 2009, the band was chosen as of one Beyond Race Magazine’s “50 Emerging Artists,” resulting in a spot in the publication’s #11 issue (with Bodega Girls and J. Cole on the cover), as well as an exclusive Q&A for the magazine’s site.

The new song is the best thing they've done since WTAM, in my opinion. I can't wait for the album.

I expected to come here and find people bashing the new song. Faith in humanity restored.

"jackson" - after non-stop listening since they posted the link - might be the song of the year for me. their sound keeps evolving in more awesome and beautiful ways. they have everything - amazing vocals, lyrics, feeling, guitars (goes without saying) and instrumentation, and that layered, shoegazey sound that you can just lose yourself in. not to mention ambition - they seem to be trying to create that great album instead of just putting out a collection of songs. cannot wait for LOSE.

Can't wait for LP3! WTAM is my favorite album ever, and Lenses Alien is a solid effort. High hopes for the next one.

I guess noone listens to these guys anymore except for me, but they're at work on an LP3 that is really fucking good. Please go see them if you get the chance, one of the best live performances I've ever seen.
