It took a whole year for me but i am coming back to this album and I like it a whole lot more than Wrecking Ball, this album is really special.

random rant: i love this album so much, really. it can't be compared to btr or darkness. years have gone by, bruce ain't got anymore that burning feeling in his belly. he's sixty, eh. he ain't got no more that desire of going away from new jersey. he's married, with children, he lives in nj. i simply can't understand why people are always comparing this album to 35-year-old albums. really. it's like saying that bob dylan has lost his touch, 'cause he's the dude who wrote "like a rolling stone". life goes on, people grow - both spiritually and lyrically. just enjoy the album and stop making comparisons with really-fucking-younger bruce.

It's funny, the guy below hates Queen of the Supermarket, and it's maybe my all-time favourite song EVER. Funny how people think of music, eh?

I like this album, but a couple of songs on it really let it down (Queen of the Supermarket is horrible) but there are plenty of underrated gems too (Outlaw Pete, Good Eye, Life Itself and Kingdom of Days are class). Undeniably a step down from the quality of The Rising and Magic though. Wonder if he'll strip it down again soon a la Nebraska/Tom Joad.

This album has its merits. It was a shock at first considering the high quality of the previous E Street Band releases, but Life Itself, What Love Can Do, and The Wrestler are all fantastic.

I must agree with the good captain, but to be fair, look at his back catologue. You can't produce such high quality stuff all the time. Next time around.

I just couldn't get into this album at all. The only songs I particularly cared for were the title track, Life Itself, Kingdom of Days and The Wrestler. The rest of it was filler at best, and kinda embarrassing at worst (Queen of the Supermarket, Surprise Surprise). It's a shame because I really liked Magic and The Rising.

I think it's 7 times we've seen him - he never disappoints - I love to see someone sweat from sheer hard work & Exhileration. He deserves all of that 100 million record contract!!!! Stuff the Seager stuff except for "American Land" and that is the business!

well of course live it's a whole different thing but his album work just doesn't do it for me anymore. i still want to go to one of his concerts so badly, cause i'm sure he kicks major ass

think it's just you SirPsycho.. just saw the Boss at the LA Sports Arena - more furiously energetic and commanding even than before, he had the audience in such a frenzy of exultation that it was awe inspiring to watch and be a part of. he is a man on fire, whether it's in his belly, his head or in his soul, i don't know but it is completely contagious and addictive.

seems like it's just me but i kinda think the boss is falling more and more into musical insignificance. barely heard anything special since devils & dust
