What can I say. After a certain period of time I have to say creation of this album was timeless. I still have a feeling of a true hip-hop in it´s raw origins. This is one of the few artists that sounds same good after a decade and more. No bling bling, catchy melodies and a true feeling of a nineties.
I don't care what anybody says, he and his album were slept on. It's such a shame because he was very talented and takes me back to a great time in hip hop. I really try to expose my friends to his album. Though, I don't feel too bad for his hip hop career not taking off, he's married to Megan Fox....that's a fair trade in my book haha
This lp wasn't as people anted to make it out to be..there are some really good songs on this joint, and like pappawheelie said Pharcyde/La Jay camp had a lot do do with the production on it. Also Will one X better known as Will.i.am did one of the dopest songs on here exstacy!! Brian was a friend of mine at the time and he was no faker!!!!!
Those who dissed back then were just shooting fish in a barrel. His album was another decent chapter in the Pharcyde/Wascal/LA Jay camp, but was dismissed in a pre-Eminem, anti-crossover Rap era. Also Black Eyed Peas cameo on this album was the best thing they've done to date (before they too crossed over), and the BEST track to sample Montara.
