The following conversation took place over a hotel breakfast between 3 Japanese musicians and a woman.

"Have you seen Kitsune at the Sorlandets Kunstmuseum?" she asked, hoping they had because they were Japanese and would better appreciate it than most others.

Musician #1 repeated, "Kitsune? The fox?". Just to make sure he had heard her right.

"Yes, it is a film about two old men sitting in the Japanese countryside telling each other stories from their childhood about the fox".

Musician #2 asked,"Is it a good film?"

She said "It is incredible! The stories about the fox, for me, were more about the expectations of the people who wished for them than the animal. One should always be careful what they wish for. When you wish for a woman who loves you forever, what do you do when you want to be with another and she won't leave? When you wish for men to think of you as beautiful, what do you do when they can see nothing else?"

As Björk will be releasing her upcoming project Biophilia very soon. I've been thinking about her and listening to a lot. Björk has been my favorite artist for around 8 years now, and I wanted to celebrate the release of Biophilia by creating a list of my favorite Björk songs. It's Bjork's Birthday! Party Time! Well it's probably not anymore seeming as you're probably not reading this on her Birthday, and the fact that I started this journal about 2 years ago, but alas, I shall continue.

Before I had ever listened to Björk’s music, I thought she was just another strange female artist you occasionally hear in the media with her wacky outfits. But then one day I heard Hyperballad and that amazing music video that went with it, and I was hooked ever since. I then took the plunge, taking a risk on an unfamiliar artist, listening to more and more of her music and getting more and more hooked with each song. I then discovered that not only is she an ageless beauty, and so unique in personality (I'm not talking unique because she wears different clothes), her entire life is consumed by music and melody's and she devotes herself to sound, not to fame. And I’ve been consumed by her music ever since!

FAD GADGET

Un pionero de la electrónica post-punkera. Vamos que Depeche Mode y todo el sello Mute le deben a este señor parte de sus señas de identidad. XD Tenía unas letras hilarantes e irónicas y dobles juegos de palabras que incluso pasaban a formar parte de las portadas de discos y sencillos (brutal el Handshake XDDDD)

Publicó varios discos con el seudónimo de Fad Gadget aunque su nombre real, Frank Tovey, se lo reservó para otras experimentaciones alejadísimas del punk electrónico que hacía en sus inicios.

Si me tengo que quedar con un disco sin duda el Fireside Favorites. Tremendo!! Oscuro, vintage, teatral, sarcástico, industrial y sobre todo genial. …
