So another year has passed, and this entry is a little late. School has been demanding, along with the rest of my life.

The last year has been a weak one for music, but I'm starting to get back into going hard at the music... lots of great CDs coming out this year and I'm starting to listen through my collection again.

So let's kick this countdown off:

    10. Buck 65 - Cries a Girl

I was at my local Skate, Surf, Snow shop, and this song came on. Thank God for Shazaam. A great song by a local rapper. The story behind it is haunting and his voice creates a perfect narration.

    9. Kid Cudi - The Prayer

A great song I was told about one day by a buddy of mine. He told me to look it up and listen to the beat in the background. Why of course, it samples my number one song of 2009: The Funeral. I fell in love immediately... Cudi is a great lyricist. He talks about how he doesn't want to go mainstream because it kills the scene.

    8. VHS Or Beta - Bring On The Comets

This entry compiles some of my favorite songs of 2009, not just a top 10, but also notable mentions and hot summer discoveries.

Without further ado, let's get to it.

    Top 10

    10. Taylor Swift - You Belong With Me

I was never a fan of country music and every summer I'd visit family in a small town where country music is their life. I knew that some day, after visiting so many times, some music country would grow on me. Well, of course it did. This song is upbeat, catchy, and what guy doesn't like Taylor Swift?

    9. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Snow (Hey Oh)

Old song, I know, but me and a friend listened to this everyday at work. I had liked it before, but this was our theme song for the summer. Lot's of adventures with this playing in the background.

    8. Kings of Leon - Use Somebody

I listened to this song quite a bit before it got famous and was overplayed on the radio, but I still like it. …
