Prior to getting settled in her own “solo” world, Amanda Shires spent time working on her musical skills in both Thrift Store Cowboys and Texas Playboys. She recently released her third album Carrying Lightning, which agains blends her lyrical, singing, fiddle/violin and ukulele talents. (I personally like her choice to cover Barbara Keith‘s “Detroit Or Buffalo). Heck, maybe you even spotted her as one of Gwyneth Paltrow ‘s bandmates in the film Country Strong. Recently she and a guy who has his own strong career going as well, Rod Picottstopped by our studio for a Discover session.
