Mar 12 2013, 2:42 di earthcrossingSat 9 Mar – Guns N' Roses, ZZ Top, Rose Tattoo
I've told a few people lately during the last two weekends that "I can't wait to never have another weekend like this again." I was telling my friend the same as we walked away from the Guns N' Roses concert. It was a good concert though it had its moments in which Axl Rose went off stage and the rest of the band indulged in wanky instrumental sessions that had no relation to Gunners at all. We were basically there to see and hear Axl and his songs, not some dudes we'd never heard of jamming on stage. My friend thought he was getting old and needed frequent rests. I thought something a bit dirtier but I won't say it here. :)
Anyway, I heard all the songs I wanted to hear except "Paradise City". We did leave before it was over 'cause we'd already heard "Welcome to the Jungle", "November Rain" (which gave my friend chills and me tears) and "Sweet Child o' Mine". …

WOAH. I am a few different colours right now - near-white, brown and pink. I got sunburnt, damn it! It wasn't even that hot, compared with last year at least, but the sun was as UV-riddled as ever I guess. Plus that damn hole in the ozone was still an issue.
Lacrymae (Stage 2)
I arrived at the Showgrounds in time to catch the last of the set from the local band on stage 2 - Lacrymae. I would describe them as operatic metal - they had keyboards and a 5-string bass. AND, I had been reflecting to myself on the way to the ground that there would probably be hardly any women on any of the stages throughout the day. I was right, and yet this local band had a chick guitarist! Simone Dow is her name, and it was pretty cool to see a lady up there shredding away.
Trash Talk (Stage 6).
I was just passing by and caught a glimpse of these guys - they were certainly getting the crowd all riled up with their doof doof sounds. …
Mar 7 2011, 7:42 di GroovemineArtist: Evan Russell Saffer
Album: Neon Gas
Label: Naysayer Entertainment
The album’s opening track, “Chemical Marketplace” explodes like a manic episode leaving burning buildings and wreckage in it’s wake, and should be credited to putting the “drugs” in Sex, Drugs, and Rock n’ Roll. Whether you interpret the song as an ode to growing up in a
psychotropic-pharmacological paradise or attribute it more to mind-altering substances of the less formal nature, the psychosis-inspired track will make you want to hear more—and more, and more.
Evan’s voice has exquisite range and chops the likes of Axl Rose, and his band is killer. His guitar player parts seas with his playing throughout the entire album, but...

Feb 8 2011, 6:46 di maplejetThe Steelers got owned on Sunday...well, it came down to the wire. Lil Wayne was dancing and getting drunk, while Wiz Khalifia's fad song came to a crashing end. The cheese were out in full fashion, the terrible towels fell flat to the ground. Aaron Rodgers hoisted up his belt. Rumors indicate that it could be the start of a dynasty in Green Bay, a team not owned by a owner like Jerry Jones, but by the people of Green Bay.
But...several other things happened in the music scene.
Now Rise for the singing of the National Anthem
First, the national anthem. Well, before that, some girl from Glee sang America the Beautiful....now, I've had enough of the NFL always selecting people (mainly "good-looking" females) from music pop shows to do the national anthems and patriotic songs. And really, this rendition of America the Beautiful, uninspired. Seriously, this needs to stop now.
But the real issue was Christina Aguilera's rendition of the national anthem. Yes, she missed a line. …

1 Talking Heads - Remain in Light
The musical transition that seemed to have just begun with Fear of Music came to fruition on Talking Heads' fourth album, Remain in Light. "I Zimbra" and "Life During Wartime" from the earlier album served as the blueprints for a disc on which the group explored African polyrhythms on a series of driving groove tracks, over which David Byrne chanted and sang his typically disconnected lyrics. Remain in Light had more words than any previous Heads record, but they counted for less than ever in the sweep of the music. The album's contrasts is noteworthy: the uptempo opening of "Born Under Punches" and the decidedly dark closing of "The Overload"; the poppy "Born Under Punches" and the cerebral "Seen and Not Seen"; the frantic pace of "The Great Curve" and the narcotic styling of "Listening Wind". …

Set 27 2010, 0:56 di doubtfulsoundsMon 16 Aug – Slash, Juke Kartel
Entertaining the swelling crowd early was Juke Kartel. Theirs is a big, predictable sound fusing metal, angst and commercial rock that received a good crowd response but there was an overwhelming sense that they are a band with a business plan and music as a secondary concern.
Slash has worked hard since the demise of Guns N Roses to carve out his own niche. Slash’s Snakepit never really worked and it wasn’t until Velvet Revolver that he began to look like he was back with his kind playing good sleazy heavy rock music. The new album is a vanity project – and he deserves some indulgence at this stage of his career – but live there were mixed emotions.
In Alter Bridge singer Myles Kennedy Slash has found a vocalist who can nail the vocal stylings of both Axl Rose andScott Weiland. Close your eyes during Sucker Train Blues and you could picture Weiland prowling and pouting, during Civil War you could easily imagine Rose swaying earnestly and hanging off the mic. …
Dic 1 2009, 21:51 di AnnaDraconidaHowdy again.
The previous list was just not long enough to contain them all. So instead of expanding it, I've created a new one, for all the horrible crimes-against-music that didn't fit into part 1.
This is 100% mainstream trash; not-so-famous bands have plenty of annoying tunes too, but flaming them just isn't as much fun.
Enjoy. Or not.
WARNING!!! HERE THERE BE PICTURES OF MUTANTS!!!
15 - James Blunt: You're Beautiful
I don't know James Blunt. I don't know what kind of a person he really is, but the air of douchiness surrounds him like a shimmering cocoon. And he's the vocal equivalent of nails on a chalkboard. Unfortunately this song was a huge hit, I kept hearing it everywhere, and every time I heard it I had an increasing desire to punch James Blunt's face.
14 - Mika: We Are Golden
