Lug 29 2009, 8:31 di Lars_olloThis week, we lifted the lid once more off our worm farm of unholy covers, bringing you the beauty of the source by diving into the cesspool of re-interpretation. Electronic or just absolutely electric cover versions and covers of electronic originals to fascinate and devastate, including selections from the brilliant "Recovery" box set on Fractured and some dubbed out pop from the new “King Size Dub Chapter 69” comp on Echo Beach. Dare to do it differently!
Max Tundra - Tell It To My Heart
(“Ink Me” single - 2000, Domino)

1. How did you get into 25?
Jawbreaker - I was really into MTX, Crimpshrine and Operation Ivy, and was checking out other Berkley/Gilman Street Bands. Go figure; Jawbreaker ended up being even more enduring in my life than the others.

Eagles of Death Metal - Probably "I Want You So Hard (Boy's Bad News)". It made me shake my boot-ay then and now..
3. What’s your favorite lyric by 33?
Pegboy- "I've seen so many passing ways I see our whole lives slip away And I want you back right now"
4. What is your favorite album by 49?
Los Straightjackets - I like the songs on Supersonic Guitars in 3-D best, but The Velvet Touch Of Los Straitjackets is their most accomplished studio album.
5. How many albums by 13 do you own?
Kiss - Oh jesus, this is embarrassing, but I own twenty KISS albums on vinyl. …

A Wilhelm Scream
7:00 PM, $10 advance, $12 day of show
After a relentless touring schedule that found A Wilhelm Scream in far reaches of the developed world with bands like Rise Against, Strung Out, and Lagwagon, the band that Alternative Press hailed as the new heirs of the skate-punk scene, finally settled down in their second home: Blasting Room studios. Career Suicide represents the third trip to the Bill Stevenson / Jason Livermore well, a well neither dry nor stale. Career Suicide is just as smart, just as anthemic as Mute Print and Ruiner, but this time around A Wilhelm Scream speeds up their formula to a neck-breaking pace. And with a new bass-player, Brian Robinson, who keeps up with, and even pushes, the maniacal guitar duo of Reilly-Supina, Career Suicide thoroughly pummels. That’s saying something about a band that’s never pulled punches.
