I'm a big Amon Duul II/krautrock fan, and I kind of have to agree with dschrammie. Their freeform material impresses me less than the more "structured" material. I put structured in quotation because there always is that improvisational nature to their music in the golden years of the band. It seems the title tracks are what get me, because Phallus Dei is the same deal, it seems to go on to long without much dynamic movement. Trippin' balls, I'm sure it's genius, but to me this track bogs down the album. I can get into the shorter "talks to Yogi" and I do like Sandoz in the Rain, but this is too long/directionless for me. Just my opinion, glad to see it's so well received by almost everyone else on here.
