Moment of Truth is one of the top 5 hip hop songs ever made. Hard to think of anything negative to say about these two, Uhh.... They've inspired a bunch of horrible backpack rappers.

I was never nearly as obsessed with his music as a lot of his fans are, but Illmatic is a classic.. Also he did that horrible music video where he was dressed up as a genie or something, so that's another negative.

Prolly wouldn't be this high up if they're songs weren't so short, I think Victim in pain is great, but I've never been inclined to dig deeper into there catalog(aka "check out there other shit")... so i guess that is a negative.

Overrated, but great.

The Smoothest voice in rap, his old stuff was classic. I actually read he was on death row for a while, and inspired Snoop Dogg's flow on the Chronic. Gave one of his more recent albums a listen, and was very dissapointed.
32.Goodie Mob
I'm not a Cee-lo dick rider like a lot of hip hop fans, but my only complaint is at times they sound like "Goodie Mob Featuring Cee-Lo" as he outshines the others on the Soul Food album.
31. Descendents
Milo Goes to College was perfect, but that's about all worth listening to. They also inspired a bunch of shitty pop punk bands.
30. Big Mello
He released a song about that "High School Pussy" in his mid 20's... other then that he's great. RIP

Some of his stuff lacks creativity.
28.DJ Quik & Kurupt
Blaqkout is my favorite album of 2009, but towards the end it becomes a bit to experimental for my liking.
27.Lennex
Nothing amazing here, but I dig there vocalist a lot. There downfall is that they sound like your typical uninspired alternative rock band, they just have a unique singer. Unfortently they broke up a couple years ago.
26. Sublime
Pretty Diverse band, one song will be hardcore, the next will be reggae, the next song will have a hip hop influence, and so on. I do hate seeing all these kids at my school with sublime shirts, posting facebook status updates saying "I love sublime, theyy R SO CHILL!!"
25.Slim Thug
I take that back about Blaqkout being the best album of 2009. I gotta give it to Slim Thug's Boss Of All Bosses. The only complaint I can say about Thugga is that he's not very lyrical. If you haven't checked out his twitter yet, do so now.
24.Big Pun
According to a Big Pun documentary I watched recently every time they mentioned how great of a lyricist he was they would showcase the same lyrics everytime "Dead in the middle of little italy little did we know that we riddled some middleman who didn't do diddily"... There's much more to big pun's lyricism then those two lines, but I guess the producer of the movie was to lazy to find another example of his lyrical talent. Only complaint is that he alligned himself with Fat Joe.
23. Lil Wayne
For every great song there's a few bad ones, and enough with the "I am a martian" bullshit. Overatted, but it's hard to hate on the guy.
22.Snoop Dogg
Doggystyle is probably my most listened to rap album of all time(Like I said I've only had a last.fm for half a year.), because it never gets old. Snoop hasn't done anything impressive since Dre's 2001 album, besides a feature here and there. Malice n Wonderland sucked.
21. DJ Screw
The King of Houston Rap, created the chopped and screwed sound. Only thing I can say is some of his stuff audio quality sounds a bit dated, needs to be remastered, but thats not his fault...
20.DJ Quik
Hard to find something bad to say about Quik, he tends to experiment a bit with his producing and that can be hit or miss.
19.Notorious B.I.G.
He's an east coast legend. I guess Life After Death wasn't as good as Ready to Die.
18. Kanye West
Kanye's albums are always fresh and consistent, but since Late Registration it's been downhill from there.
17. Geto Boys
Nothing bad to say about my second favorite group in hip hop, I guess The Foundation isn't that great, but damn Leaning On You is a classic.
16. OutKast
So many classics from these two, I guess they can get boring after a while, and Speakerbox/Love Below had a lot of filler IMO.
15.Paul Wall & Chamillionaire
Get Ya Mind Correct is all I've heard from them. These two aren't very good on there own, but as a group they're great. The only downside is it's nothing more then materialistic lyrics for the most part.
14. Dr.Dre
The Chronic was the first rap album I remember listening to, and it's a classic. So is his second album. He does use ghostwriters for his lyrics so that's a negative.
13.Guerilla Maab
Z-ro, Dougie D, Trae produce one of the most soulful albums out of Houston. They were all young and hungry when Rise came out, and it shows(Especially in Trae's voice, sounds very different.). Back to back classics on that album, only fault is Cl'Che on every other song, I can't stand that bitches voice.
12. Jay-Z
Put on a great live show last month. Reasonable Doubt is great, and so is The Blueprint. I guess his voice can be kinda annoying on some songs.
11.A.B.N.
Cousins Trae and Z-ro are great together, both rap about similair subjects(Fradulent Friends, Depression, Sacrifice, Hustle to make it out the hood), they have voices that mesh well together. No Help is incredible. The only negative is one minute they're making music together, the next minute they got beef again.
10.Bad Religion
Been a fan of this band for a while, they got the melodic hardcore thing nailed. The singer also has a giant vocabularly, which is rare to find in Punk Rock. They're first few albums are great, they kinda slowed down as they got older. Also they always headline the Vans Warped tour, which is filled with horrible screamo shit.
9. Fat Pat
An SUC Representer, Fat Pat is a rap legend in Houston. Ghetto Dreams is a texas classic. Only thing negative i can say is his production wasn't that great.
8.The Cure
The Cure seems a bit out of place next to Fat Pat and the rest of the top 50 artists, but there's not another band out there that can create an atmosphere with there music like The Cure can. Hard to find anything negative about this band, I guess Close To Me sucked.
7.UGK
Bun B and Pimp C were two of the best in the game, put them together and you have the best duo of all time. Ridin Dirty is the best album out of Texas, and one of the top 5 Hip Hop Albums of all time. Only Negative is the horrid songI'm So Bad off of Too Hard To Swallow
6.Big Moe
City of Syrup has unlimited replayability, but it's not Big Moe alone that makes that album. It's features from guys like HAWK, Lil' O, and Z-ro along with Moe that make that album so great. Only negative is half of his verses is about his love for the purple drank. Unfortently Big Moe died in 2007.
5.2Pac
What hasn't been said about the most passionate voice in hip hop? The greatest out of the west coast, he was one of the most soulful rappers to touch a mic. I guess all you can say about Pac was he wasn't the most lyrical, but he made you feel everything he said.
4.Devin the Dude
The most unique artist on this list. Extremly creative, Humorous, and he loves the weed. He claims "This dick is so clean it would probably go good with yo brocolli and cheese". That's the kind of stuff you hear when listening to Devin.The only negative about Devin is I usually can't listen to a Devin album all the way through without getting somewhat bored.
3.Trae
Restless, Losing Compusure, and Same thing Different day are all great albums. No one in hip hop has the gutteral voice that Trae has, and he's perfected his style. Unfortnetly he's starting to go mainstream which is great for him, but like most people who go mainstream the quality of there music drops. Sadly he's changing his voice to try and sound harder, and he's doing songs with Soulja Boy.
2.Scarface
Scarface is the greatest of all time. Nothing bad to say about him. Emeritus could've been better, but that is all. The Diary is another top 5 Hip Hop Albums of all time, and in my opinion The Fix is just as strong.
1.Z-Ro
Z-ro towers above all with the most scrobbles on my last.fm. No one since Pac has rapped with such passion. Most of his songs can be depressing, but that's because he raps about his real life. Like I mentioned earlier, he raps about his helplessness, his hustle to make it out the hood, fradualent friends, stuff that all of us can relate to to an extent. He does recycle old choruses and verses quite a bit so that can be a negative.
Finally done with this shit. Took me a lot longer then i thought, waste of time....
