I've just received my copy of the cd+dvd version (after several problem with the post office) omg it's huge, what a surprise ! It's a freaking great disc ! Love it ! So much better than Sphinx Rose. MORRIS SACRAMENT (Long Version) and Edelweiss are masterpiece. Thanks for the many information you give snkupo :)

One thing you might find interesting about PIL is that Benzie did most of the album by himself at home with instruments + pro tools (which he's been learning from Fukanuma Motoaki of Mellowhed). It's the first time he's done that.

The new album is indeed nice. I've only listened to it once so far but my initial impression is a lot better than when I first tried Sphinx Rose back in the day.

Sphinx Rose was pretty much a stripped down Sherbets album with a couple of Asai solo "proper" tunes thrown in there (Mad Surfer, Skeleton, Bad Strawberries). I liked it, but it's definitely the weakest solo album so far. Anyways, here's a teaser for the DVD that comes with the limited edition of PIL: http://youtu.be/6FyrZi7hVqY

New single "OLD PUNX VIDEO" to be released on Nov. 22nd. New album "PIL" to be released on January 16th. The new lineup for his solo project includes Watanabe Keiichi, who used to play bass in JUDE. Thought that was pretty cool. :)

Benzie's producing the forthcoming album of three-piece rock band LEDY JOE (http://tower.jp/article/news/69092). Their first album, clockworked lemon, is set for release through Sexy Stones. As they've drawn influence from BJC and TMGE (have a look at the album tracklist...), this should be interesting. They've put demo versions of some of the album's tracks up on their myspace, so check it out: http://www.myspace.com/ledyjoe

Same here. I put together a little something on last.fm: http://www.last.fm/music/Pontiacs (I'll have to pester the moderators to turn the band name into CAPS, though :P). Anyway, they're playing at Fuji Rock ‘10, which is in about two months exactly. Wonder if they've written a lot of new songs, or if they're starting out by playing BJC tunes. Or perhaps it’s all instrumental (dubiously, since Asai’s been announced to do “vocals”)? Bah, can't wait for more information to get revealed. :) More than anything, it’s amazing that they decided to play together again.

I was hoping that PONTIACS would be an Asai project, but the fact that it includes Terui as well makes my year. HAPPY!!! I can't wait!

BIG NEWS! News have been posted on various websites (http://news.searchina.ne.jp/disp.cgi?y=2010&d=0601&f=entertainment_0601_022.shtml), indicating that PONTIACS is a three-piece band centered around Benzie. And what's more, is that Terui Toshiyuki, BLANKEY JET CITY's bass player is one of the members! How awesome is that? I mean, comeon! This is fairly close to a BJC reunion! MASUO, who has been a support member for the band FAKE? is going to be the drummer, apparently.

v First I thought it would be some random band (without him) on the label, but we will see. : )

Not to get people’s hopes up or anything, but if memory serves right the last time Asai referred to Pontiacs in his lyrics, was on BJC’s “BANG!” album from 1992. If this new band turns out to be similar to early nineties BJC, it’d be splendid. I somehow doubt it though. Heck, Benzie might not even be a member :P

v Yeah, just noticed that too (and that now the OHP has an English version too, well, kind of XD). Can't wait for more info on PONTIACS.

For anyone interested, another band (named PONTIACS) has appeared on the Sexy Stones Records website (http://sexystones.com/). There doesn't appear to be any information as to what kind of band this is, or who the members are, though.
