Yeah, I've been looking for ひなたぼっこしよう all over the place...according to a japanese description somewhere, it's a radical change in sound: it's completely organic, using real acoustic instruments, and has a very warm sound. But it also said that behind that change her songwriting is still the same, or better. brrrr, WANT SO BAD. Also, I was surprised to find that she was a gravure model at first and Apparently, her first album's lyrics are remeniscences of her days as a gravure idol. This makes her music all the more poignant for some reason...I wonder what become of her, she should be almost 50 years old now...

What do you all think of La Noon and Shifuukei? I just found Shifuukei recently (and almost wept), so I haven't had many chances to listen to it. But La Noon I have, and although at first I didn't like as much as 凛, it's grown to be just as good, in a different way. Can't quite put my finger on what that difference is, though. 凛 was her third one, right? Shifuukei, La Noon and then 凛? You can definitely tell the evolution as a musician...

凛 is perfect. My knees quiver at its perfection. I don't know how such a flawless masterpiece could ever have come into existence, but I'm profoundly grateful. When I listen to it I feel as if I've known this music forever, it directly speaks to a very personal part of myself that not many other musicians have reached...the nostalgia is almost unbearable. And tracks like ゆらり ゆらり are out of this world. Suddenly the whole album draws to a halt, and you're floating in a white vacuum. Oh god. It's too real. All the tracks, they're so real they almost hurt. OK, enough fanboying.

凛 is probably my favorite album right now. to say that i'm a little obsessed with it would be an understatement.

Yeah, "太郎と呼ぶ"...makes me think of a rocky beach on a grey day, but for some reason I feel warm inside. Bffff, the whole of 凛 is a masterpiece. I can't believe such a good album exists. Also, does anyone know anything about her? She writes her own music, right? I think another woman (can't remember who) arranges it, though. Maybe she writes it on a piano, and the arranger turns it synth-pop. Ahh...I want ひなたぼっこしよう so bad.
