Buddy Peace - Wolf Diesel Mountain OUT NOW!
Mag 9 2008, 12:54
2600 Recordings is proud to present the latest Mixtape opus from Buddy Peace.
Buddy Peace has been championing a slow-burning revolution in mixtapes for over five years now. His pedigree is unchallenged - A Friendly Game of Chess (with fellow 2600 accomplice Zilla), Watch and Repeat Play for the Warp Vision DVD and last years' The Commonwealth Kids Mix with Bully Records' Carlo - pushing the boundaries and expectations of what a mix could be.
This is a mix of broken hearts and block parties, unfaithful guitars and dusty drums. In just under an hour Buddy mixes slivers of over 100 post-rock, hip-hop, folk, indie rock and electronic gems. There is a journey here, a narrative of disparate elements combined, like the best indie film you never saw. But like every good mix it still bumps, leaving your spine aching and your head bristling with hopes of redemption.
This is a limited run of 300 hand-stamped and numbered CD's - available exclusively from these lovely people below:

"Wolf Diesel Mountain is simply a masterpiece of eclecticism, sewn together by dead man's drums. It stomps across genres picking out all the best music you were too stupid to buy, gives you a little taste and, before you know what's happened, it barrels off in a different direction. A triumph, and a lesson in how life affirming mixtapes can be - all hail Buddy Peace!" - Bracken (Anticon)
"Wolf Diesel Mountain plays like a documentary with no picture. Put your headphones on and listen as Buddy's cast of heroes, villains, and weirdoes take you on an entertaining journey" -
