0.11 preview version

  • FLAC files not scrobbled

QTScrobbler doesn't seem to scrobble FLAC files, not even when added in MTP mode. Mp3's, on the other hand, scrobble flawlessly. Is there a way to work around the issue?

    Can anyone help me?

I'd like to scrobble with my Cowon J3, but I really have no idea how to do so..

I downloaded a qtscrob-0.11.dmg file but don't have any idea what to do with it? Do I have to copy it on my cowon and somehow install it? And what so after..

    Would love some help! :)

may I ask how are things going with 5gen iPod nano? 'cause my old 3gen works like a charm, and with 5gen I get "ERROR : Parsing failed - not an iTunesDB file".
    (I'm testing 0.11-r239 Gui version @win7pro)

i'd love to know if there's an update to this, as well. using the .11 preview with an ipod nano 5g, here's what happens: connect ipod with itunes closed, push "Open iTunesDB" button, select the drive letter of my ipod (f:\), and get the following error message: "Error parsing: Parsing failed - not an iTunesDB file."

Taking a look at the console at level 3, here's all I can see:
DEBUG : Conf: Success on read/write
    DEBUG : DB: tables: schema,track_length
    DEBUG : DB: version: 1
DEBUG : Detected Timezone: Eastern Daylight Time
    DEBUG : Detected DST: 1
DEBUG : Detected Offset: UTC -04:00
    DEBUG : Detected GMT: 1301346110
ERROR : Parsing failed - not an iTunesDB file

I tried showing invisible files and folders and navigating to the iPod_Control\iTunes folder, but that gave me this error, which was perhaps more informative in that it told me the program seems to be looking in the right place, but not very much beyond that: "Error parsing: Parsing failed - unable to open iTunesDB at F:/iPod_Control/iTunes/iPod_Control/iTunes/iTunesDB"

I can't say for sure, but my reading of this thread has lead me to understand that the DB is now compressed - does this mean the .11RC should be looking at the file "iTunesCDB" instead?

I'm not a coder, so I'm not sure how to do this myself, but I'd love an update or any tips, if someone's found a way to get scrobbling working for the 5g Nano.

I have a Cowon D2, not a J3, so I might be wrong about this, but...

I think what you need to do is:
1.) Set your J3's USB mode to "MTP".
    2.) Listen to some music.
3.) Plug into your computer, making sure that your device registers as some sort of music device (if it's just USB mass storage, you're probably still in MSC mode.)
4.) Open QTScrobbler.exe. Go get version 0.10 since it's a more "finished" piece of software than the 0.11 version is that you have.
5.) When QTScrobbler opens, click the "Open MTP Device" button at the top, pick your device from the menu that opens, and take it from there. Make sure your last.fm login stuff was entered in the preferences.
6.) Let us know if you figured it out!

    Unexpeced log deletion

If you got any old entries in your log then when trying to scrobble it says that "your tracks are too old, remove them and try again" and then deletes the log, not submitting anything.

This version works great. My only problem (it really isn't a problem) with it is that there is no icon so it doesn't look nice in the taskbar.

    I'll try.

  • Thank you, this works great! I'm so glad I don't have to use iTunes!!!!

  • Qtscrobbler doesn't take into account when I actually listened to the song, it scrobbles the tracks as though I listened to them all at the same time (the time I ran qtscrobbler). Look at the image to see what I mean. This isn't meant to happen is it? It also doesn't submit them in the correct order I listened to them. Is this fixable?

EDIT: I'm using a Cowon X7 if that helps.

I have Walkman b153f. I take 0.11 No program skrobbles. The console can be seen that the tracks appear, but their duration is 0. How can I fix this? Alternatively, you can manually correct and just how?

  • Anyone find a solution?!?! CANT SCROBBLE NOTHING FROM IPOD

  • Good work!
Now it's possible to scrobble cowon player! I've just tested it.
I'm afraid skipped tracks are not marked so by many players. So it's not a flaw of qtscrobbler.
It seems v0.11 works slightly faster than v0.10 when fetching tracks from device and manually changing Length and Played fields.

Is any sorting planned? I mean clicking on table's header will sort the very long list of tracks by artist/album etc.

    So I dub the Unforgiven...
  • My QTscrobbler is scrobbling tracks that have played even for less than 2s... Dunno if the problem is on QTscrobbler
