Users begin by entering a song or artist that they enjoy, and the service responds by playing selections that it thinks are musically similar. Users are then able to provide feedback on the individual song choices — approval or disapproval — which the system takes into account for future selections.
Over 400 different musical attributes or genes are considered when selecting the next song. These 400 attributes are combined into larger groups called focus traits. There are 2,000 focus traits. Examples of these are rhythm syncopation, key tonality, vocal harmonies and displayed instrumental proficiency.

There are many scrobbling options Ant718. Bananasaur's link to FF extension is a good one. Also notable are PandoraFM - http://pandorafm.real-ity.com/login.php Right now I use Like.fm - http://like.fm/ - since it scrobbles both Pandora and Grooveshark.

chkngrrl Pandora can exist because of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act in the United States. Other countries and their licensing laws would put Pandora out of business, which is why they had to limit to US IP addresses only. Talk to your government if you want Pandora in your country!
