Heys sveis,

you've got to come up something better if you're angry or frustrated. I keep a blowtorch in the basement and occasionally burn myself on the arms with it. Sure keeps my mind from bothering about dying now or later. Try the blowtorch, it's fun and hurts a lot for days afterwards. Since I'm really serious about the bt-therapy, I can warmly recommend you to install asbestos-plates in the room where you use the torch. Helps keeping the neighbourhood safe since you wont be able to set fire to your walls or furniture.

Have YOU not yet acquired a BLOWTORCH? Then go get one TODAY!

i have a knife in my room... i cut, that kinda helps... just watching the blood flow out it makes me feel better i dont know how but it does... meh mabie when im older ill do the blowtoarch thing... thx ~^^~

I have been told that hurting yourself takes your mind off being anxious and depressed, but there are other options that are less likely to scar, become infected, or be misinterpreted as suicide attempts.

Some of these options include exercising (sounds corny, but has been proven to raise endorphin levels), making artwork (I find repetitive things like collage and knitting especially soothing), or getting good at a game like bowling, pool, or Super Mario Land.

It saddens me and frightens me every time I find yet another person who self-mutilates because I know there are other options. And I *know* that this is going to sound familiar, but counseling and/or psychiatric help is also a good thing. They can help you find out why you feel anxious, depressed, or out of control and help you fix that. Treating the cause is a lot better than self-medicating by harming yourself. And the problem with self-mutilation is that it's only a temporary fix anyway. Better to find the root of why you feel the need and fix that.

well I don't know about you but in sweden it's really difficult to afford psychological counselling. Mere depression won't give you a free pass in the mutually funded social welfare system. Sounds awkward, but that's the truth. Every now anf then i hear that "hey you swedes, you live in a dream country with nice welfare systems that take care of everyone, not like in other countries where you have to pay for your own insurance". That is a misconception!!!

To benefit from the state-controlled welfare system, ie psychiatrists, you have to make a lot of fuzz, and when you feel like shit it's not going to work. You just haven't got the strength. I find buying butane gas for my torch every now and then is a very descent and cheap way to get relief since I cannot afford to pay a psychologist myself.

This is slightly disturding. I hate myself alot of the time and wanna die sometimes but dosn't everyone?
I think this is a bit of a weird thing to have a group about, and it just seems like whoever created it and most of the people who post in it are just looking for attention by telling everyone the ways they hurt themselves and stuff. No-one's perfect and most teenagers get depressed and hate themselves at some point but there's no point dying because of the angst you're feeling. If the depression continues then see a professional, self harm may give you a temporary fix but in the long term it'll just make things worse, if you get over this self-hate then you'll always have the scars to remind you how sad you once were, therefore you'll never be able to forget the negative feelings.
I just think this forum seems too much like a bit of attention seeking. Just my opinion so if you reply to this please don't bite my head off.
