Join if you don't understand why so many people think Pink Floyd created music, and claim that even Mozart was influenced by them.

Note to trolls: Don't use our charts to flame, I keep the group open, and of course pink floyd may appear on them as some people still listen to pf (as any other mainstream band). GTFO if you don't like it.

PF fans are a very specific kind of demographic. They emphazie emotion more than anything else in music, and it isn't emotion in general, it's this specific kind of pseudo-misanthropy in a lot of their lyrics. That's how mega PF fans relate to PF, through the words more so than the music. And while I don't think that's an invalid way of enjoying art, it makes the band's albums particularly The Wall extremely subjective and esoteric. Musically it has a lot of filler with maybe 4 good tracks because its priority is the message itself. So people who call PF genius tend to care more about a musician's articulation of intuitions and ideologies more than using music itself to carry across these and other ideas. I like PF, but I can't relate to them, nor do I find them musically groundbreaking save for some really clever recording/sonic techniques. [/my2cents]

I listened to Dark Side of the Moon for the first time a few months back. Incredibly hard not to fall asleep. I thought progressive rock was supposed to be, you know, progressive.
