What band introduced you to the hxc scene?

  • What band introduced you to the hxc scene?

i'd have to say A Static Lullaby. not so hardcore but as i listened to more bands like them, i came across much better bands

  • growing up i listened to all sorts of stuff. when i hit like 4th grade and 5th grade, it was all about who listened to the heaviest loudest music. in 5th grade i was bustin out this band called tourniquet (metalblade records)... then a year later ('97) my friend alex was like "oh yeah, check this out" and showed me a band from here called xdisciplex (later being called xdisciplex ad).

i didnt listen to much music when i first started.. then i found linkin park .. lol i know.. sad haha. then i started gettin in to korn and i loved them for about a year. then along slipknot and mudvayne.. slipknot i still really like.. the other two not so much. then i found atreyu. that would probably be the band that got me into the hardcore the most. i loved mainstream metal for a long time until i realized the ther was MUCH better stuff underground lol.

i have to say haste the day and underoath, even though they're not hardcore. they showed me that there was more to music than the same stuff played on the radio, and i started to explore different types of music until i found what i liked

aren't those bands more like metal/rock?

anyways, i think Chiodos introduced me into the whole HXC scene .. along with 100 other bands on myspace.

  • Local band at my first show where I'm from, A New Kind Of American Saint, on of the most insane live sets I've ever seen in my life. I think that shit freaked me out a bit because I didn't listen to hardcore for a few months after that, but then got into it really hard, really fast. haha.
