Every nation and country has it's good and bad. I don't see why there's any reason my any nation should be hated, though. A degree of cultural preference is natural.

I am a person who does not even believe in nations and does not thing that different countries should exist. The best kind of world is a world without borders. And as that kind of person, I believe the best step to such a direction is to focus on what you love, instead of what you hate. Cultural philia is a good thing, and does not denote an ignorance of the "bad parts" of a culture.

Every countries problems is intensely debatable, but why even make that a main focus. People should point out the problem of another country with compassion not judgement.

What America may be doing right now overseas may not be just or ethical, but that's no reason to dislike us. And I'm not doing it as a defensive American, I'm doing it as a defense of human beings. There's no reason to hate ANY nation.

I love that, almost 100% my thoughts! :)

America isn't that bad. They are just one big old country town...trying to kill all the other big old country towns...

Its not that I dislike America, its a lovely country. My problem with it is the people that live there, their mentality, their way of life, their government. My problem is fundamentally with everything America (the ethos, not the physical place) and Americans represent. Fuck America, fuck it, fuck capitalism.

"The Americans will always do the right thing... after they've exhausted all the alternatives." -Winston Churchill.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

I totally agree. People is always the problem. No one ever wants to do things to make the world a better place. And that really pisses me off.-

I'm not really fond of American politics or people. I think the most laughable (and woeful..) thing is that they banished the Aboriginals and destroyed the whole indigenous culture..

    wake up?

    USA Rocks

I love the USA! It is the land of oppurtunity. The world will see a different USA than that of the Bush era! It is a shame that there is no National healthcare but otherwise this country rocks!

    Fuck Politics !!!!

I Love this Country but I don't like the politicians who run this country especially of the Bush (s) era who kill people in the weaker countries just to gain more power and more oil..To me that's bullshit and on top of that we don't get National Healthcare...But despite that i still think Obama is doing a better job than Bush (both of them)

    LOLOLOL

If you don't like it here, leave. If you don't like us and don't live here, don't come here. And don't take any American dollars to help you either. I'm tired of financing/defending the rest of the world with my hard-earned tax dollars and getting beat up about it. Try raising a child completely on your own and being self-employed. I've worked hard and been successful. No welfare for me. No corporation tells me what to do. I don't have to wear a burqua and neither does my daughter. We didn't have our country taken over by brownshirts nor the USSR. We've outlasted them all, and will continue to do so. America is made up of hardworking honest people just like me, trying to feed our children and make a life for ourselves. And RETAIN OUR FREEDOM. No wonder everyone's beating down our doors to get in here.

You people come and talk to me in about another 20-25 years when you grow up. And figure out neither red nor blue give a rip about you. Obama's nothing but Bush 3--he's owned and operated by corporate interests. Go Independent--in everything you do. Your work, your politics, your religion, and your life. Stop volunteering to be part of the circular firing squad. Until then.....

    Quit Bashing America.

  • now that's why people don't like america "hey, i'm a hard working american and everyone else is just a foreigner" don't you think that other people are working hard, as well ? btw, YOUR "hard working" financial "experts" led this world into this fucking crisis ...congratulations

I love the United States, freedom, republican party and capitalism! Fuck all America hating commies.

“Freedom prospers when religion is vibrant and the rule of law under God and his King is acknowledged.”
  • When you say AMERICA, is it UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, or AMERICA the CONTINENT?
It's different! I'm American, but I'm not from USA!
    So, please specify!

  • I wish I could be as decisive as some of the comment makers here. It's amazing to be able to completely know a country and its people via the stories and snapshots you may have seen about said country. I am thoroughly impressed... IMPRESSED!
I love this country, whether I agree with its politics or not. My family has bled and died for it for several generations, so I don't have much of a choice. And yeah, we make mistakes. Like GW Bush. Sorry about that, world. But, you know what they say, "It's not a democracy unless someone gets screwed."
    Bye all!!

All the Americans I've met have been nice! Thank u for saving the Queen and the rest of the Europe from totalitarism last century.

Where does your conservatism come from? More than a quarter of the Americans seem to be more traditional backwards than the Papa Ratzi himself.

I don't like how in America if your on the street you can kill someone and then get life in prison, free food, shelter, protection and even minimal healthcare...
They should be just executed.. crime rates would go down fast..
and I hate the people... so ignorant... no idea whats really going on..
and worst of all, there are all these 12 year old kids that hang/shoot themselves because they get called fat and ugly in middle school...
But I think that America does deserve credit for saving Europe (and probably the world) from Hitler and the Nazis..

U are ignorant and stupid. First: The USA sold Hitler weapons and other stuff. Second: U would kill all the people who shoot other people ? And what if someone who didn't do it was killed ? How would u feel ? And who are u to tell who should live and who shouldn't ? U are like the average american I guess: A stupid fool.
Oh and crime rate would go up fast cause people would kill each other cause : The law shoots people. Why shouldn't we do it too ?

I think you're the one that's ignorant, man. First of all, it costs more to execute them than to keep them in prison for life. Do you want even more of your tax dollars wasted? Also, what about the poor, innocent people that are probably serving life right now, for a crime they did not commit? Do they deserve to die? The system is too faulty for such a thing.

In my opinion, it's worse to rot in a jail than to die a quick death.

But seriously, what in your mind makes you think that crime rates would go down based on that fact? I would really love to know, although I doubt I would get a logical, fact-driven answer from you.

  • But I think that America does deserve credit for saving Europe (and probably the world) from Hitler and the Nazis..

If the USSR and the USA arr the same thing, then yes.

  • very hard question

A main reason might be that most of the people think that americans think they are the greatest and freeest nation on the planet and that they have to teach anyone else. Never been to the states myself so I can't jugde if it is true.

But when I listen to news and see interviews with americans that are so "over-patriotic" and are talking of the U.S. as God's own country and such bullshit, I just want to puke...

I agree with motorsaege. Sometimes it looks like some Americans (citizens of the US) think they are the only people who are able or permitted to define the concept of democracy. My idea of democracy conflicts with the fact that any people are kept behind the bars without a possibility to defend themselves in a fair trial like in Guantamano. It is tyranny, not democracy.

Personally I think the election of an ex-alcoholic ‘believer’ to lead half the world was not wise. A person who gets direction straight from the God during morning devotion and had never been abroad before entering office scares me. To me, the first part resembles Jedi fiction and the latter part hillbillism. But I think the election was democratic and was up to Americans, haha

The mess after Bush left office is significant: no clear sign of improving economy, the number of unemployment still rising, the ‘peace operation’ in Afganistan will never end, Iraq wil not turn to a real democracy in decades, no sign of ceasing of terrorist attacks of Al-Qaida.... Hard to anyone to solve these problems. I am afraid Obama is better in speech than in concrete results. So, God bless America!
