The classification by genres was quick and dirty, and maybe it doesn't help a lot. I find it confusing myself.

We have Catalan here as a "Potentially Endangered Language".

The criteria we use to decide that a language is potentially endangered is "It has to compete with a stronger language in it's main territory" (See more: Diglossia).

Although Catalan is the Official Language of Andorra, it has to compete with, and has less legal recognition that Spanish in the "Principat de Catalunya", the situation is worse in "Valencia" and "Balears", and has absolutelly no legal recognition in Catalunya del Nord (Currently France).

Although I wish that all languages in this group were as strong as Catalan, it's good health shouldn't make us forget that Catalan is still a minorized language under strong pressure.

I write to recommend a new group that I known few weeks ago; La Pegatina

This group is from "Moncada i Reixac" (Barcelona) and some of their songs are in catalan, well... only 2 :(
Style -> rumba catalana (catalan rumba)

I love this group, very happy music :D

EDIT: Track "O Camareiro" is in galician. I like this song a lot 'cause I have galician roots (like one of the group La Pegatina).

You can ask for some help from a volunteer in http://www.parlacatala.org/.

They can drive you to many resources and help you with doubts, troubles, etc.
