  Attention, please: Lie is a sin! Johann Sebastian Bach was a LUTHERAN not roman catholic. Handel grew up as a LUTHERAN, but after his naturalization appears to have adopted the worship of the CHURCH OF ENGLAND (=ANGLICAN CHURCH). Nevertheless Handel write sacred music for catholics, calvinists, lutherans and anglicans, anyone who pays.

It is so profound, & absolutely true, & hit me so much that I just have to share it & pass it on: "I have advice to those of you who struggle with anything: be honest with God, don't lie and say I "want" to quit smoking, say I "don't want" to quit smoking but help me, and only then He can help you.   Tomorrow is, of course, Holy Thursday. Some time during the evening, play this, think of the words, & let the tears come. This has to be close to the way the angels sing it above. Panis Angelicus (But for a brief bit of levity - DON'T listen to it before you go to music practice, whether you play or sing!)

  This is so beautiful, I didn't want to put it just under discussion. Most people are familiar with Andrea Boccelli's version. That absolutely cannot hold a candle to this - this is the way the angels would sing it, I think. The Prayer

  I did a little research, & if I understand the charts correctly, who you listen to doesn't affect charts so much as how many of us listen to the same artist. The overall tracks list the artists common to all of us in descending order of popularity; i.e., if you listen to TSO a thousand times, it's still only going to count it as 1.
