I'm not only in death metal, i have more an open minded taste in music. I'm also intrested in progressive rock, little bit jazz, old school hip hop lika N.W.A and of course some really good electro musicas like Alex Empire. I don't really intrested in such bands you like e.g. August Burns Red.

in general otakus and all that jazz are in general thinking people and metal is thinking man's music so yeah it does. makes a shit load of sense dosen't it?? :P

I love also anime like metal but I dont think that I could be a metalhead? =X

lol its not just younger metalheads. Im 21 and i have enjoyed both metal and anime since I was 11

I think it isn´t asking the age or music taste because i know one guy who is over 30 and still into metal and anime.

anyway i don´t understand this why it is so weird if metal music fans like anime too...
Well and I I like Industrial,EBM,deathmetal and anime and that´s it. Why to care...

all are welcome to their own way here.music taste do not means anyting here. Anime is for everyone so why to care anyway what kind of music taste fans have.

I only Watch Anime when i watch anything, and i only read Manga.
But i hardly listen to any Metal besides Nu-metal, only Rap and other black music in my Playlist.
But yeah i also thought about this matter, there are a lot of Metalheads who watch anime but alot of people who lsiten to rap also watch anime so.
It's Complicated...

all of my friends that like anime happen to be metalheads.. but i also think thats just coincidence .. i hope not though

When I was little Anime with my lifestyle, so was J-Pop, J-Rock, and anything else that came along with it.

I started listening to metal a lot more when I registered on Last.fm, and I haven't listened to much J-Stuff since then. One would think Metal would have killed my taste for anime but it didn't.

It's also just a coincidence in my case too. Back when I was in primary school I avoided metal because I thought it was "Satanic" and Anime was my "Healthy" way of getting fun. I became an atheist later and started listening to much more metal than what I watch anime nowadays.

I like both. I really don't watch much Anime now though (last year I just re-watched Card Captor Sakura and Rurouni Kenshin, watched both ef's, and Bakemonogatari). a total of 5 series in a year when before I could watch thousands of series at any given time. I guess I find myself listening to more music than ever.

But this vacation I'm planning on watching many things. Mostly magical girl stuff (because I love silly stuff like that).

TL;DR: I love metal and Anime but I wouldn't consider myself an otaku now.
