  @rezazereza you don't obviously see how much the "alice in chains" name is still worth on the "market" . I'm sure if e.g. Eddie Vedder suddenly died those PJ blokes would start again (hopefully) under a new name. Think.

  @RockInChains: Eh, there are plenty of melodic songs with Layne. You need to pay more attention to what you are listening. Also don't forget that rock/metal isn't about being melodic, although it is good when do right. Layne possessed a raw energy seldomly seen.

  I hate William DuVall but he is not so bad. We should also look at the rest of the musicians. Alice in Chains is not just Layne. Now, Alice in Chains is a new project, but still make great music.

  Hey fellas, big AiC fan here. Eventhough Layne was the real man for the group I think DuVall is doing exceptionally good. Quite in fact... he's one of the exclusive team of new vocalists in famous bands who can actually fill in part if not the full leight of the shoes the previous vocals filled. And after all I preffer getting new material from AiC like 'Acid Bubble & Last of My Kind" for example than just clinging to the past. All said I regret that i wasn't old enough to see them live with Layne in the lineup. Cheers :)

  Jerry Cantrell is what makes Alice in Chains such a great band. They're the same band as they've always been. William DuVall may not be anywhere as good as Layne Staley, but very few are.
