  Greetings everyone! I believe that "real" music lovers listen to full albums 90% of the time. Sometimes I also make my own 40 song compilation of various artists of song picks based on a current mood so it has the right flow too. I'm really good at making those, there is definitely a art to it.

  I feel right at home in this group, I almost always go through a new album this way and very much prefer albums where the album as a whole is more important than each individual song. Especially when the songs are intertwined, that is great stuff. Of course, some albums simply do not work very well if you listen through the whole album each time - most notably Greatest Hits albums. But who listens to Greatist Hits albums anyway?

  I keep complete albums instead of picking and choosing songs. I have barely any songs without their albums. Than again, I usually like the whole album of whoever I'm listening to. [2]

  I don't understand the people who download an album (legally or otherwise) and then delete the songs they don't love on the first listen or two. It's no wonder I've encountered a few bands that want to scrap the album format in favor of releasing individual songs. It makes me sad to think that eventually the album format might die (at least in mainstream music) because people are so singles-driven.
