"listening now" tracks only displayed

  • "listening now" tracks only displayed

I started playing music with my WMP and the only tracks showing are the "listening now" tracks. Nothing is being added from my WMP for the past 8 hours, even though I've been playing music for 4 hours.

    ex.

Falling Slowly - Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova "listening now"

Same Kooks - The Hold Steady "8 hours ago"

But when I play another track, the Hold Steady track will stay at 8 hours and the previous "listening now" track will mysteriously disappear.

    uhh...what?

Well, looking at your profile, I see you've scrobbled 4 hours from now so assume that this issue has resolved itself. If it persists again, do shout.

  • actually, no. That Nick Drake song stays at 5 hours and doesn't move.

Ain't No Sunshine (Ft. Willis Jackson) - Harlem Underground Band "listening now"

Which Willfull - Nick Drake 5 hours ago

I deleted the Hold Steady track to see what would happen, but it didn't make a difference. I restarted the computer, WMP, and the Last.fm client.

    No joy...

  • 6 hours now. Nothing is scrobbling.

  • okay now i plugged in the ipod and it scrobbled the ipod tracks but it's still not scrobbling tracks from itunes or WMP.

    wft?!?!

  • alright, i'm leaving the house. I'm going to keep playing songs.

Hopefully someone can reset my account or something to fix this.

  • I'm having the same problem.

  • Oh. We're back in business.

Thank you to whoever fixed it.

same problem here, but i'm using foobar2000.
i tried with songbird and it does the same thing. >.<

  • I'm having a similar thing. It doesn't care about my iPod tracks, but those tracks are listed in iScrobbler application as played, so it should be adding them. But on the recently played page it only lists stuff I play from my computer.

Take a look at this snapshot from iScrobbler compared to my profile: http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/3163/picture1bg1.png

You can see that the last track played (by Cynic), appears, but nothing from the previous tracks listed is shown. And iScrobbler lists 47 tracks as queued, but obviously the latest track got uploaded. I have a hard time seeing a queue being left when it sends up "current" songs.

This is getting a bit frustrating, I just hope it's a matter of the "just listening" chart being off and that last.fm still registers the songs. I've been playing my iPod like crazy this week and I'd hate to lose those scrobbles.

Oh, and I did have another "now listening" track which appeared and disappeared a while ago. Though that doesn't appear in my iScrobbler list.

Update: Fixed! for some reason, a simple reboot solved it, and everything's showing up properly now. Might not be the same issue, but worth a shot if you're like me and tend to forget the simple solutions :p

I've gone off the idea of progress... It's overrated.
  • i can't scrobble either, as songs will just stay in the cache although "Currently listening" is correctly displayed even on the web page!
in that diagnostics thingy it tells me that ther server connection is OK but it just doesn't scrobble?

I'm having the same problem since yesterday, all the tracks are on the cache, but they cannot be submitted to the server... =/

  • mine were finally submitted, then it worked perfectly for a while, now it's storing them in the cache again.. maybe the servers are just "overloaded"?

I have the same problem, while listening to a last.fm tag-radio station.

  • WTF?! It was fixed. Now it's happening again!

This never happened with the old last.fm!!

  • this is happening to me now...it will say what i'm listening to but then it won't keep it in my history. i use winamp and i know i have the latest updates and all that. this is the 2nd time i've had problems with scrobbling.

ok so i restarted and now it seems to be working but i restarted before and then the problem persisted not too long after...

    Same problem here too.

There was a "CRITICAL" on Submissions. It's OK now, but I didn't try it myself.

same problem for last three hours

  • me too

I've been having the same problem for a couple of hours. The standard fixes I've tried before haven't helped like checking out the cached tunes in diagnostics, resetting my name, etc...
