VLC 2.0+ not scrobbling?

  • VLC 2.0+ not scrobbling?

Any of y'all able to scrobble from VLC versions 2.0.0 or higher? Mine only works with 1.1.9 and previous versions, the current one just says

    "audioscrobbler debug: Meta data registered
audioscrobbler debug: Song will be submitted."

in the debug area and leaves it at that.

I've already posted on the VLC forums, but wanted to know if I'm the only one of if it's an issue for anyone else, and whether the problem's likely with me, VLC, or Last.fm. Thanks :)

  • Yup...

... same problem here with VLC 2.0.1.

  • hey

noticed an audioscrobbler config under the preference tab, all option. So far seems that it is not updating the scrobblist on the profile -___-

  • Looking that VLC have broken scrobbling with a recent release. Do you have a link to the forum post?

  • :(

Yeah, I have just updated my player to 2.0.1 version and suddenly scrobbling stopped. I am getting the same messages (data registred, song will be submitted) but there is nothing on my profile. All the blogs and forums advices seem not to be working for me.

  • downgrade

Ok, so I finally decided to do a downgrade - got version 1.1.9 and it works just fine. Now I am sure it was not my bad at all.

    VLC 2.0.2 works now

    Hello,

VLC 2.0.2 does work, but it has to be enabled via advanced preferences:

    1) Select Tools/Preferences. Hit the All button (bottom left).
    2) In the Interface section click "Control interfaces". Select "Submission of played songs to last.fm".
    3) Expand the "Control interfaces" section and select Audioscrobbler. Enter post.audioscrobbler.com for Scrobbler URL.

Tested and works (thanks to zmower at VLC forum)

    VLC 2.0.4

Scrobbling does not seem to be working for me in OS X via VLC 2.0.4. I noticed the advanced setting that Ales is speaking of is already filled in.

I noticed an addition checkbox in advanced preferences under control interfaces that says, "Submission of played songs to last.fm". I went ahead and checked that too. No change.

Edit: restarting the app a couple times fixed it.

did anyone fix this? I just upgraded to VLC 2.0.4 and it ain't scrobbling despite settings...

  • VLC 2.0.5 on Win7 is scrobbling fine for me... is this just a Mac issue?

  • It works on windows 7 VLC 2.0.5 but not on Mac...

    {...}
  • the update DID break it. you can still successfully downgrade to the older version if you clean your registers, which helped. ->

VLC 2.05 MacOSX Still Not Functional

I just downgraded from 2.05 to 1.99 because the integrated scrobbler was not working. 1.99 works fine.
