    New version (1.2.3)

    Version 1.2.3, grab it here.

    Changelog:
    - Static linking once again (no msvcr71.dll needed).
    - Proxy auth should (finally) work now. Untested.
    - Option to submit songs "only in database" (bit of a misnomer that).

    Thanks

Thanks Russ for including the "only in database" option that I requested. I have just checked it out and it seems to work perfectly.

  • still doesn't work

Anytime I install the foobar plugin it causes errors with the player. I've tried every version of the plugin and also tried getting a newer version of foobar2000. Still causes errors on opening foobar. Any suggestions?

That's no use to me without the error message...

  • trouble too..

I keep getting this error message on my console. I wasn't sure if anyone else was having the same problem and knew how to fix it.

INFO (CORE) : startup time: 681 ms
INFO (Scrobbler) : Handshaking: Client up to date.
INFO (Scrobbler) : Submit interval set to 1 seconds.
    INFO (Scrobbler) : Handshake successful.
INFO (CORE) : location: "file://C:Documents and SettingsAmy CMy Documentssoulseek sharechromeoshes in control-retail-200411-chromeo-shez_n_control-chr.mp3" (0)
INFO (foo_audioscrobbler) : Track is not permcached - not submitting.

    thanks.

None of those console lines indicates an error. All except the last line just indicate normal behaviour.

The last line "INFO (foo_audioscrobbler) : Track is not permcached - not submitting" indicates that that track is not in the foobar2000 database, so is not being submitted.

If you wish to submit all songs regardless of whether they are in the database, simply go to Preferences -> Components -> Audioscrobbler and untick "Only submit files permanently in the database".

To configure whether the foobar2000 database is enabled, and if so which folders and file types are included, go to Preferences -> Database

    same problem, still doesn't work

Hi Russ! I was so excited to see the new plugin v1.2.3, but when I tried it out on my laptop, the disappointment was the same as before.
Foobar works well without the audioscrobbler plugin. When I install your plugin, foobar opens and produces the error missatge displayed here (click for image). (I assume that other users have seen this error too.)
While the error is displayed, the main foobar window is unresponsive and foobar doesn't automatically start playing as it usually would. The only thing that works is you can click on the error window and the title bar of it goes active, and you can click on the main window and the title bar there goes active. Foobar itself doesn't work any more with your plugin.
When I click OK on the displayed error, foobar closes with no further messages.
The only remedy is to uninstall the audioscrobbler component - this brings foobar back to action.

    Can you fix this please?

    Thanks!

yes, a proxy without the authentication (i don't know if it makes a different or not - it's set on port 8080)

    I still get

"INFO (Scrobbler) : Unable to handshake: sleeping..."

    when using an authenticating proxy.

  • Re:

That's no use to me without the error message...

sorry. i thought it was a common prob. actually it sounds like maduixes has exactly the same problem. I get a different error message now that I've installed a newer version of foobar.
    the new one is:
    "Runtime Error!
    Program C:programfilesfoobar2000foobar2000.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."

which seems pretty vague. I'll reinstall the old version and post the other error message. sorry i don't know how to link to the image.

    thanks!

  • okay. turns out it's not that I had a new version of foobar, it was the old version of the plugin that gave be a different error message, v1.2.2 i think. So the other error message is irrelevant now, I get the same Runtime error in both versions of foobar.
thanks for all the snazzy updates and stuff.

  • Here's the error I get:

INFO (Scrobbler) : Handshake failed: HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN">
INFO (Scrobbler) : Unable to handshake: sleeping...

My roommate uses winamp and has no trouble with audioscrobbler so i don't think it is a problem with my connection.

How come the plugin does not submit when you manually change a song? It doesn't even submit after the song finishes playing and goes to the next one...

    does not work here either

    Win98SE
    testet foobar2k 0.8 and 0.8.1
immediately after starting foobar i get a window saying

Title: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Content: Runtime Error! This application has requested the Runtime library to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
    [OK]

foobar seems able to play some songs in the background though, but when i press the OK button of the error mesage, foobar shuts down. (The console window does not mention any error)

    bye,
    zebee
