The 2014 edition of the Cold Waves Music Festival (Cold Waves III) has returned again to Chicago for it’s third straight year. Once again the festival has been taken to new heights by it’s organizers with surprise headliners and bold lineups filing out the 2 day event. The festival returns to the Metro Chicago but the headliners now range from EBM and Waxtrax legends, Front 242, to the Industrial metallers, Fear Factory. The diverse lineup includes Germany’s Die Krupps, The return of Chris Connelly (Ministry, Revco, Pigface) with his latest project, Cocksure, Pitchfork Magazine’s EBM darlings, Youth Code, Madison’s Caustic and the critically acclaimed ∆Aimon. Additional support is given by Author and Punisher, SMP (Sounds of Mass Production), Chicago’s Cyanotic, Acumen Nation and the very in demand, Surachai alongside special guests.
Limited $72 2 day passes and the single day passes ($42) will be on sale via the Metro website on Friday 4/18. Some very limited VIP packages ($170-$200) will also be on sale via the Cracknation website on 4/18. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit Chicago’s Hope for the Day which utilizes music and the arts to offer education, prevention and hope against suicide.
