Hi there,

I know in my last message to you I said that my album will be ready by March. Most people who know me would say I don't lie on purpose. I mean well; my intentions are pure. Life just intervenes. You know how it goes.

But soon dear patient friends, very soon.

I've known for a while that a couple of the American musicians who played on said (delayed) album would be soon visiting Australia coincidentally. Micah Hulscher is a session pianist whom i worked with in Nashville. The guy is very very good. In fact he seemed to have learned my song before I'd even finished playing it for him the first time. It was nailed on the first take!

Anyway, he'll be in Australia pretty soon, as will my long term collaborator Adam Selzer from Portland. I recorded my last record with him, and tons of other stuff that you might have heard. Now Adam is a gun musician as well, treaded the boards with M Ward and various other wonderful projects. And here I find out he's just coming over to Australia for a mere holiday!

Some people who know me might say I'm an opportunist.

How could I let this one slide? So you'll be happy to know I've successfully roped Adam and Micah into doing some shows with me. They've never even met, and in the immortal words of Robyn Hitchcock, "You can't put two cats in a bag and expect them to mate." But they're both outstanding people and I bet it's gonna be one big happy family on wheels.

So these shows are happening soon!!! In a couple of weeks. I only just manage to book them in. I was fussy about how they would occur.

These will be album preview shows.....

...almost like recitals (and that's how I've sold it to the venues so they'd let us do them!). I wanted them to be intimate and special, with real pianos.

I apologise for the slightly higher ticket price. The amount of tickets we can sell are very limited and the spaces are not your average music venues. I promise for the album tour the price will drop back to normal if you'd rather wait for that.
