For the 8th edition of its Polymorphism series, CTM Festival presents Oneohtrix Point Never with a live performance of his new album. In an evening also featuring Lorenzo Senni, Stellar Om Source, Ital, Moon Wheel, and KOBOSIL, Polymorphism #8 plunges into the depths of variant, unorthodox club sounds.

With his September release of R Plus Seven on prominent British label Warp, Daniel Lopatin, aka Oneohtrix Point Never, achieves new levels of compositional complexity. Inspired by his native New York City, Lopatin’s pieces take on a narrative quality: synthetic, mirrored mazes littered with references to the glitter-trash contemporary consumer sound both uncannily familiar and profoundly strange. For his appearance at Berghain, Oneohtrix Point Never performs live alongside video artist Nate Boyce.

Stellar Om Source, performing her recently released album on RVNG, Joy One Mile, promises to be another program highlight. Previously better known for her synth experiments as Frenchwoman, Christelle Gualdi here skillfully redirects her aim toward the dance floor. Ital (Not Not Fun, Planet Mu) will also bring his rousing, free-form live / DJ sets to the night.

Making his debut for CTM is young Berliner KOBOSIL, whose second EP will be released in autumn on Ostgut’s Unterton label. KOBOSIL and Berlin-based Swede Moon Wheel (Not Not Fun) are part of Berlin Current, a new project from CTM focusing on young Berlin artists and produced in collaboration with Berghain, Boiler Room, De: Bug, and BLN.fm. For those interested in Berlin’s musical future, keep an eye (and ear) out for updates in the following weeks and months.

Opening the night is Italian synthesizer experimentalist, Presto label head, and CTM.13 featured artist Lorenzo Senni, whose debut LP, Quantum Jelly, was released on Editions Mego in 2012.
