Yann Tiersen
We doubt you have never heard of Yann Tiersen before, but just in case: he is the French musician and composer that made the music for among other movies Le Faubleux Destin d’Amélie Poulain en Good bye, Lenin!. He is known for his piano music but also plays the violin, guitar, accordeon and melodica.
And for those who know him mostly from his romantic piano songs, you might just be surprised: Tiersen and his band do not shy away from the heavier stuff, either.
In 2010, he released his sixth studio album (Dust Lane), after which he started a tour – and now, a new album is already on the way: Skyline, which will probably be released around the 17th of October. His only other show in the Netherlands this year is in the Melkweg in Amsterdam, so make sure you come and check him out in Maastricht!
