Lou Brown
There can't be many singer-songwriters who can draw inspiration from their love of 'The Sound of Music', the legend of Robert Johnson, and a former career in social work, but Lou Brown does just that. David Hurn
Singer and songwriter David Hurn’s debut single ‘Sick Of Hate’ was released in 1999 on Day Release records. Live performances across the UK and Berlin swiftly followed.
Signed to Fire Records in 2001, leading to support slots with Mark Eitzel, appearance at SXSW Texas, BBC Radio sessions, as well as composing music for a series of short experimental films. Debut album ‘He Was A Woman’ was released in 2002, followed by the critically acclaimed ‘No Love’ E.P.
David Hurn’s second full length album, ‘The Beautiful Trustful Future’ was released on Fire Records in March 2008 and was preceded by the 7” single ‘The Man Who Stayed In Bed Forever’.
A special ltd edition CD album titled ‘Black Flowers’ (four track instrumental recordings ‘97-98) was released in February 2010 on Trace Recordings.
A summer solo tour of Poland was completed in June/July 2010…with a winter tour expected to begin in November 2010
